Google Business Profile verification stuck or failed?
What it means, and how to pass.
Verification is Google checking that a real business exists where your profile says it does. Most profiles now verify with a short video recorded on your phone, and Google says the review takes up to 5 business days. If the video is rejected, "Review issues" tells you what was missing. After several failed attempts Google shows "No more ways to verify" and sends you to a support form instead. One of the most common causes of failure is a business name on the profile that does not match the sign and the documents.
What your verification screen means
Each one needs a different next step.
Verification under review
You sent a video or other proof and Google is checking it. Google says this takes up to 5 business days, sometimes longer. Leave the profile alone while you wait.
"Review issues"
Your video was not accepted. Select "Review issues" in your profile: Google lists what was missing, such as the business name not visible or no proof you manage the business. You can record a new video.
"Get verified" came back
Google could not fully verify the business. Try again, or use another method if your profile offers one. This often follows a change to the name, address or category.
"No more ways to verify"
Google has stopped offering new attempts after several failed ones. The screen now links to a support form where you send photos of your signage and business documents. If that does not resolve it, a live video call is usually the last route.
Google explains the methods on its page about verifying your business.
What your video has to show
One live, unedited recording from your phone, at least 30 seconds, with no breaks. No bank, tax or ID numbers and no other people's faces.
If customers come to you (storefront)
- Where you are: street signs, the building number, nearby businesses.
- That you exist: your storefront and a permanent sign with the business name, matching the profile exactly.
- That you run it: something only staff can do, like opening the register or logging into the point-of-sale system.
If you go to your customers (service area)
- Where you are: street signs or landmarks near your base. Not an empty plot.
- That you exist: your tools, equipment, products, branded van or uniform, business cards.
- That you run it: doing the work (no faces), or a permit, licence, invoice or utility bill in the business name.
These are Google's own requirements, from its page on verifying with a video recording.
The mistakes we see most often
- The name doesn't match. The profile says "Smith Plumbing Emergency 24/7", the van says "Smith Plumbing". Google compares them, and keywords in the profile name are one of the most common reasons a video fails.
- No permanent sign at a storefront address. A paper sign, a shared building directory or a co-working desk doesn't prove you are there. Without a real sign, set up as a service-area business instead.
- Nothing shows where you are. A video that starts indoors never connects the business to the address on the profile.
- No proof you manage it. Showing the outside of a building is not enough. Google wants something only the owner or staff could access.
- Edits and repeats. Clips stitched together, a pre-recorded video, or videos sent from different Google accounts. Each failed attempt brings "No more ways to verify" closer.
How to pass Google Business Profile video verification
Follow them in order. The first step is where most failures are decided.
The name on the profile must be the name on your sign, your documents and your website, with no extra keywords. A storefront needs a permanent sign at the address; a business without one should be set up as a service-area business with the address hidden.
Google asks for three things: where you are (street signs, building number, nearby landmarks), that the business exists (signage, products, tools, branded equipment) and that you manage it (an employee-only area, a register or point-of-sale login, or a business document in the business name).
Use the Business Profile on your phone. Google requires a live, unedited recording with no breaks, at least 30 seconds long. Do not show bank, tax or ID numbers, or other people's faces.
Review takes up to 5 business days. Changing the name, address or category while it is pending, or in the first weeks after verification, can restart the review or trigger a suspension.
Open "Review issues", read the reasons and record a new video that shows everything from the first one plus what was missing. If you reach "No more ways to verify", use the support form on that screen with photos and documents, and keep everything in that one case.
"No more ways to verify": what to do
This screen used to be a dead end. Now it links to a support form. As Platinum Product Expert Claudia Tomina explains in Search Engine Land's guide to the change, you send photos of your signage and your business documents through that form, support usually replies within a few business days, and if that doesn't resolve it, a live video call is offered as the last route.
- Fix the cause before you submit. A form sent with the same mismatch fails for the same reason.
- Send documents in the exact business name on the profile, at the address on the profile.
- Keep everything in one support case. Opening several cases slows everything down.
- Don't create a new profile. It becomes a duplicate, and duplicates get suspended.
We worked a case like this: a Charlotte tour company whose screen showed "No more ways to verify" after its profile was merged into another business. The next step was a screen recording sent in the same support case, as Google's agent had asked, and the profile came back under its own name. Read the case study.
When to get help
Most owners pass on their own once the name, the sign and the documents agree. Get a second pair of eyes first if any of these are true:
- you already see "No more ways to verify"
- two or more videos have been rejected
- your documents are in a different name from the profile, or at a different address
- you work from home, a shared office or a co-working space
- the profile was merged with another business, or now shows someone else's details
That's the work we do. We handle cases for businesses in the UK, Ireland, Europe, the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, all in writing. The assessment is free, you never share your password, and our fee of $497 is paid only once your profile is verified and live. If your profile is suspended rather than unverified, read Google Business Profile suspended: what to do first.
Verification questions owners ask
How long does Google Business Profile verification take?
Google says a video or other review takes up to 5 business days, and occasionally longer. Phone, text and email codes are instant once you enter them. A mailed postcard usually arrives within 14 days and its code expires after 30 days.
Why was my verification video rejected?
Google tells you in "Review issues". The common reasons are a business name that is not visible on a permanent sign, a name on the sign that does not match the profile, no clear location in the shot, and no proof that you manage the business. A keyword-stuffed profile name is a frequent cause, because nothing in the real world matches it.
What does "No more ways to verify" mean?
It means Google has stopped offering new verification attempts on that profile, usually after several failed ones. The screen links to a support form where you submit photos of your signage and business documents. Support usually replies within a few business days, and if that does not settle it, a live video call is offered as the last route.
How many times can I retry video verification?
Google does not publish a number. It used to be possible to upload many videos; now the profile moves to "No more ways to verify" after a few failures. Treat every attempt as limited and fix what Google listed before you record again.
I work from home or go to my customers. How do I verify?
Set the profile up as a service-area business with the address hidden. In the video, show street signs or landmarks near your base, then your tools, equipment, branded van or uniform, and a business document in the business name such as a licence, permit or invoice.
Can I verify with a postcard?
Only if Google offers it for your profile. The methods you see depend on your business, and video recording is now the most common one. If a postcard is offered, do not edit the name, address or category and do not request a new code while you wait.
Should I create a new profile if verification keeps failing?
No. A second profile for the same business looks like a duplicate, which can lead to suspension, and it starts with no reviews. Fix the cause and finish verification on the original.
Can I edit my profile while verification is pending?
Avoid it. Changing the name, address or category during review, or in the first two weeks after verification, can restart the check or trigger a suspension.
Do you need my Google password to help?
No. You stay the owner and submit everything from your own account. We prepare it with you over WhatsApp or email.
How much does it cost if you handle it?
The same as reinstatement: $497, paid only once your profile is verified and live. The first assessment is free, and you can pay in your own currency.
