Terms of Service

Plain-English summary of how working with us actually works.

Who we are

RZ Web Media is a digital marketing agency. Owner: Rizwan Karim. Operating addresses: Brooklyn, NY (US operations) and Kolkata, India (primary operations team).

These terms govern your use of rzwebmedia.com and any services you engage us for.

Service engagements

How engagements start

When you engage us for a service:

  1. You message us via WhatsApp, email, contact form, or phone
  2. We discuss scope and confirm pricing (which matches our public pricing on the site)
  3. We send you an invoice
  4. You pay the invoice
  5. We start the work within 1-2 business days

Payment terms

  • One-time services (GMB reinstatement, web design, GBP setup): paid 100% upfront unless otherwise agreed
  • Monthly retainers (Local SEO, LSA management, Digital Marketing): paid on the 1st of each service month
  • 6-month and yearly tiers: paid in full upfront at the discounted rate
  • Payment methods: Wise, PayPal, direct bank transfer, Stripe
  • Late payments (more than 7 days past due) may result in pause of service until paid

Cancellation

  • Monthly retainers: cancel anytime by email or WhatsApp. No notice period required. Current month's work continues to month-end.
  • 6-month tier: cancel anytime, but the prepaid period is non-refundable. We complete the work through the prepaid period.
  • Yearly tier: cancel anytime, but the prepaid year is non-refundable. We complete the work through the prepaid period.
  • One-time services: not cancellable once work has started. If we haven't started yet, full refund within 7 days of payment.

What we guarantee — and what we don't

What we guarantee

  • We'll do the work agreed in the scope
  • We'll communicate honestly about progress, including bad news
  • We'll respond to messages within 24 hours during business days
  • We'll show you exactly what we're doing on request

What we don't guarantee

  • Specific rankings. Google's algorithm is outside anyone's control. We do the work that historically correlates with ranking improvements, but we cannot guarantee position #1 or even position #10. Anyone who guarantees specific rankings is either lying or breaking Google's guidelines in ways that will harm you long-term.
  • Specific timelines. Local SEO is a compounding investment. Typical timelines are 4-6 months for meaningful improvement, 6-12 months for strong rankings. Some markets move faster, some slower.
  • GMB reinstatement outcomes. We file appeals with the right evidence and language. Most appeals succeed. Some don't, and Google's decision is final.
  • Conversion rates. We can drive traffic but we can't control whether your phone is answered when it rings or whether your team converts the leads we generate.

Intellectual property

What we own

  • Our website, content, blog posts, methodologies, processes
  • Generic templates and code patterns we've developed
  • Our brand, logo, name

What you own

  • Your custom WordPress theme (if we built one) — you can take it to another developer
  • Your content, blog posts, images we wrote/created for you
  • Your domain, hosting, GMB profile, Google Analytics property, etc.
  • Any specific deliverables produced for you under the engagement

Anonymized case studies

We may use anonymized aggregate data from client engagements in case studies, blog posts, and marketing materials. We never name clients without explicit written permission. If you don't want even anonymized references to your engagement, let us know in writing and we'll exclude you.

Confidentiality

We treat client data (business names, financials, internal communications, strategy) as confidential. We don't share client information with other clients, prospects, or third parties — except as required by law or to deliver services (e.g., setting up Google Analytics on your account).

Limitations of liability

Our total liability for any engagement is limited to the amount you paid us for that specific engagement. We're not liable for:

  • Business losses, lost revenue, or lost opportunities
  • Third-party platform decisions (Google, Meta, etc.) that affect your business
  • Issues caused by your existing site/hosting/setup that pre-date our engagement
  • Changes you or another party makes that conflict with our work

This isn't us trying to dodge responsibility — it's standard. We'll always own our actual mistakes and fix them at no charge.

Disputes

If you're unhappy with our work, talk to us first. WhatsApp, email, phone — whatever's fastest. We'll work to make it right.

If we can't resolve it directly, disputes are governed by the laws of New York State (USA) for US clients, and the laws of West Bengal (India) for clients in India. Canadian and other international clients can choose either jurisdiction. Mediation is preferred over litigation.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms occasionally. Material changes will be communicated to active clients by email. Continuing to use our services after an update means you accept the updated terms. If you don't accept updated terms, you can cancel per the cancellation policy above.
